I haven't ever seen a big buck in the middle of the day on my pre-rut and rut all day sits in 40+ years of hunting. I hunt public land, don't know if that has anything to do with it. Whitetail Buck of a Lifetime
Missouri and Montana. I’ve killed a decent number of 100-120” bucks over the years in addition to these two good bucks. I hunt mainly public and the big boys are rarely seen. -
Feeling Like a White-tailed Year.
Some nice whitetail bucks! It's awesome that you have the option of either whitetail or mule deer. I've been hunting whitetails in Missouri for 40 years and yet I killed one of my best whitetails ever (144") on day 7 of what was supposed to be a mule deer hunt in Montana. -
Another rifle I want but don't need. The .264 Win Mag.
If you have the financial means, just buy it. It's a very cool cartridge and critters won't like it. I'm waiting on a .264 WM build myself.😁 -

Nice rifle! I just recently changed the rifling twist on a new build to stay below 300,000 RPM with jacketed bullets at the velocity the cartridge is capable of.- sambo3006

Big Bullets for Big Animals?
Another vote for the 8mm Rem Mag. I shoot the 200 gr Partition. I've taken a 310" and 320" bull elk with it, plus 3 bears and a bunch of whitetail deer. It shoots itty bitty groups and kills with authority. Other cartridges need not apply.:cool: -
My 2024 limited entry Utah rifle elk hunt
Great story! You put in an amazing amount of effort on that hunt. While it isn't a 400" bull like the ones you see with a half dozen people surrounding it and a guiding service logo in the bottom of the picture, it is far more of a trophy the way I see it. Well done! -
