Nick, if you ever come out this way I'd be glad to take you and your family out. Preston, that little cataraft will give you some real good options. I know just where to show you for bass and crappie as well as some trout reservoirs.

I'm 40 miles east of Baker City just a few miles from the launch ramp on the Powder River Arm of Brownlee. I can take you out on the reservoir and also show you shore fishing areas. I usually start fishing for smallmouth and crappie in April but have caught them in March also. A little early for...

    RIP Robert Duvall

So many great roles. From the Godfather to Open Range. I used his napalm line also. In the heat of summer I used to make early (4:00 AM) slab pours. We would be done by 9 or 10 before it got too hot. I'd always say " I love the smell of curing compound in the morning". RIP Mr. Duvall.

    Burning my soul clean.

My family had many years of good life. Seemed like we could go on forever. Then it turned and we started losing people regularly to the point that there's not too many of us left. You never get used to it. Losing my Dad hit me the hardest but I was fortunate to have many good years with him. The...

Dad started me with a Model 99 .300 Savage with a K4 on a Pachmayr swing down mount. Got my first mule deer with it in 68. I haven't shot it for years but last year I got an itch to hunt whitetail in the Black Hills with it. Got it all ready, ordered bullets. Just have to put a hunt together now.

    Lions in Chukar Country

The closest call I ever had with one of my dogs was from a Golden Eagle. I was fixing fence in the back 40 and Ranger was running across an old grown up pasture. The eagle was perched up on the rim rock 600' above. I watched him leave his perch , swoop down, circle and line up on Ranger. I'm...

I hear about 1 every year. Dogs have been killed. I tried to keep my dogs within 70 yards but even then it could still happen.

    Portland Sports Show Ad

The things you learn on the internet 😊 Randy Newberg – Newberg is perhaps the nation’s staunchest advocate for access to public lands. He’s a seasoned hunter, a lawyer and former B-2 bomber pilot who showed United States Senators they messed with the wrong guy when attempts were made to...

Non-political Make ICE hate make sense to me. Can it be civil?

Many of the farms have the same crew come back every year on work visas. Some bring their wives and they cook for the whole operation.
