    Had an old Leupold 2x7 in the closet, stuck it on this rig and went to the range today. Started out completely off the paper, gun was shooting about two feet to the right. Got it dialed in and last three shots were a decent 1.5" group. It's easily minute of deer. Not going to mess with it...

    This one also has the flip over mounts. I have a real hard time trusting a scope mount that moves. How does yours hold zero with those moiunts?

    I picked up one today to add to my collection. It's chambered in .300 Savage and according to the numbers was made in 1954. It's been used plenty and shows wear but well taken care of, not beat up and bore looks good. Came with a cheap scope which I will probably replace with something more...

    Do any of you guys have murderers hanging around your homes? I can go out to the garage or shop building, or just be outside cutting the grass and go back to the house to find the door locked. One can only assume there is a high rate of murder in our neighborhood I have been unaware of.

    It's mighty dry in parts of the midwest too. For the last two years it has quit raining around August and we've had very dry falls and winters. Most of the wetlands are dried up and most ponds, creeks and rivers are way low. Have only gotten about 8" total snow so far this winter so not much...

    Grew up in a neighborhood with lots of kids. Depending upon the time of year or whatever the current interest was you could find a pick up / sandlot game of; tackle football, baseball, basketball or hockey nearly every day withing a short walk or bike ride. A lot of other silly stuff too...

    Agreed, freezing ruins stream trout. Big thick lake trout fillets do okay in the freezer for a few months, but all trout is much better eaten fresh.
