I have a blonde haired/blue eyed buddy that was talking about getting his official tribal card for some tribe (Chickasaw?) in OK. Him and his brother did it, but neither one of them has any affiliation whatsoever (and I know them pretty well).
My assumption is that it's some sort of legal scam...
I will say that my experience in late Nov was black and white compared to earlier this year. Now I can fire up Google Maps and navigate when on Sat service. Texting is much smoother and almost not noticeable.
I did my 1200 sq ft workshop DIY with Tiger Foam kits. Local companies wanted like $15k (pre-COVID!) so the cost worked out. The first 1/3 I did was awful, middle part OK, and the last 1/3 looked halfway decent. Ran out on the ceiling and finished with just buying those rigid foam boards and...
I was listening to a Swaro rep on a podcast talking about these. They're working on binos, but just can't (yet) get the price down. They'd be over $6k now for a pair and probably too big/heavy. Tech needs maturation still (for Swaro standards)...
My cheap Sig handhelds are functionally great...
IMO the only real justification is digiscoping for better footage. I had a spotter but sold it awhile back since my hunting style is too ADD and I'm rarely in a single spot glassing for multiple hours.
If you are the type to sit and glass from a single spot for hours, I think you'd still want...
I enjoy a fine glass of wine or bourbon, but most of my fondest memories were made with cheap beer and an open mind. People that just CANNOT hunt without the most exquisite glass are likely not a lot of fun around the campfire...
My goal for next year is to buck my trend of Gucci gear and go...
Vortex sells a HUGE range of glass quality, from Walmart awful to Swarovski SLC-grade (Razor UHD, not the regular Razor HD).
I don't think you can lump all Vortex in one bucket - those could have been $100 Crossfire kids binos.
FWIW I run Maven B series which have been tested side by side with...
Great bullet, but just a reminder that factory ammo these days is a complete crapshoot. I've tried multiple lot numbers in factory Hornady Precision Hunter and saw over 100fps muzzle velocity swings, and 2+ MOA to under 3/4 MOA with the same rifles (Tikka liked one and a Savage liked another)...
Booked a dream build with them. They screwed up pretty much every aspect of the build (chamber, action nitriding, timeline), but the icing on the cake was that they KNEW the rifle chamber was FUBAR'd and they still shipped it. Even sent two "proof" rounds. It would not even chamber SAAMI factory...
Unknown is pretty much the Christensen Arms of quality control. They charge about 30% premium to do the work that a competent smith charges and ship out product that is embarrassingly poor quality.
Find a good local smith, save money and frustration.
I don't. But what do Toyotas have to do with me boycotting car companies run by a proud Nazi?
If you're referring to Japanese being one of the Axis powers, Japan's emperor completely abdicated to the US, and we essentially controlled the rebuilding of their nation, including forging a pretty...
My cousin is a Toyota salesman. He says he has less than 5 years before car salesman are gone. Making pretty good money wasting people's time in the mean time though...
Easy button is to go to Granger Motors out of Iowa. Just build/spec out the truck you want, download the build sheet PDF and email that to them. They'll get you an OTD price that's usually about 5% below INVOICE. Very low add-on bloat fees too.
They might also offer steep discounts on in-stock...
Brand new Tikka 6.5 Creed chopped to 17.5". Four rounds to sight in and next 20 rounds here with factory Berger ammo. Shoots just like my other 4,000 Tikkas that I tell my wife I need.
They actually just announced that it (Starlink) would support several apps for low-bandwidth data. I'm guessing things like weather app, whatsapp, etc.
