Knowing how many animals I've stumbled into and spooked at close range because I wasn't paying attention, I'm sure it has happened to me. Elk may not tolerate it so much, but a blacktail for sure will stand and watch you walk by.

My son got a 3rd rifle buck and 3rd rifle cow in the unit where his cousin (my brother's family) lives. We'll look forward to that trip and hope to catch a buck traveling somewhere between the high country and the private in the lower country.
