    280 AI vs. 7 PRC

We have both, 280ai is custom on an old savage action, the 7prc is a Fierce Reaper. Both are accurate and shoot better than we do but AI gets the field time. I've had the prc for 3 years, its gone bear hunting once. If I off load it, it will be replaced with a 6.5cm, 280ai, or 7saum..

    Superior 7MM?

I have owned a 7 magnum of some sort, all my adult life... My wife's 280ai, the 7-08, and 6.5cm see more range time and feild time... I've owned a 7prc for 3 years and only taken it on 1 hunt and it has less than 200rds through it. When a 7 mag was my only, I used it more but now that I have...

Poll - One all around single cartridge under conditions

I have no experience with the 6cm, or any cm other than a 6.5cm. I will say with the 6.5cm I only had 1 animal take a step. I probably only Killed 6 or 7 with it and had no complaints. I won't say any of them are wonder caridges but I think some of the more modern cartridges are more efficient...

Poll - One all around single cartridge under conditions

If you reload you could load the ai down for practice. I like the idea of having a smaller cartridge around for practice. A .223 in the same configuration wouldn't be bad. My wife shoots a 280ai but she picked up a 6 arc this year and likes shooting it way more. I have a 7prc i don't shoot much...

Poll - One all around single cartridge under conditions

It would be a slight edge, with the slightly bigger diameter and heavier bullets if a blood trail required.. My 6.5cm has more kills than my 7-08 even though I'm more of a 7mm guy. All that said, I started using a .223 last year with no complaints. The wife is going from a 280ai to a 6arc this...

Poll - One all around single cartridge under conditions

I voted the 6.5cm due to ammo availability. With the listed cartridges and use described, the 6.5 or 7-08 would be fine. If you reload, or need a better blood trail, the 7-08 would have the edge. If you looking for less recoil, the 6arc might have a place and honestly, the 223.

Best hunting pants for the wife?

My wife, @Twobyfour , has been wearing Sitka for a couple of years and likes them, she has 1 trip with a pair of kuiu puffy pants that seemed to work well. I think she has a couple of pairs of solid color hiking pants we wears some times in the early season but can remember or what brand. I wear...

7mm-08 150 gr velocity in short barrel

The 5 shot group is with Stabal and 150eldx, the 4 shot group is Stabal and 150 ABLR, and the 3 shot group was factory 150eldx... That's in a 18.5 in Remington model 7... Non of them shot let than 3 inch at 100 but you can see the speed.

    ND Badlands

Where are you going in from? The numbers are low and have been the last few years but you should have no issues finding a few deer. I live here so I always want people to wait and shoot mature critters. Even though the numbers are low there are still good deer running around. You can DM if...

    ND Badlands

ND game fish have a pretty good interactive map on their website, it's worth a look. OnX can get you in trouble, they don't have the Non-motorized areas accurate and there has been some issues with the electronic postings. I've never heard of anyone having their vehicle messed with but don't...
