  • Brandon they might quote that but I bet if you actually tested it with the black marker on a new knife that it Would Not be that fine of an angle. It will probably be 20 degrees on each side. Seems like that is what it was when I've done a couple Buck knives.

    I was surprised and doubtful at that proposed angle as well, I'll test it on a buck I haven't touched yet and see what the real angle is. Thanks for the info.

    Even if is is at 16 or thereabouts I would just sharpen at the 20 degree angle and be happy. If it is too shallow of an angle the blade is more prone to chipping because you have that longer thinner bevel on the edge. Best of luck.
