Spend my money on a chronograph
A reliably accurate unit that doesn't strap to the barrel can be more convenient IF you don't shoot at a public range that makes set up difficult or impossible. I use a magneto speed just to get accurate readings at the indoor range i sometimes visit. Can't use it while confirming group size or...- WM2

Leupold scopes love or hate em?
Had a few and most were good for set-and-forget. None of them were made to twist. All of them were never fun to re-zero....seems you have to be patient and wait till the cross hairs settle down after adjusting. Had a 1.5-6 that crapped out on a light 7-08. My favorite is an old VX 3.5-10... -

Pillar Trimming and Bedding
I use a flat file or my dad's lathe if he's around and Marine Tex is great. My Manners was better fit than yours but i even had to do a little work to my McMillans. -

New 30-06. Thinking about trying copper.
I've seen some pretty impressive results with my dad's and the 168 TTSX... from white tail to hogs. It was the bullet JJHack used in his loaner rifle for African hunting from what i remember.- WM2
