Came from a family too poor to hunt. Started chasing small game with a slingshot and whatever else was available. Fortunate to have a shotgun gifted to me around 17. Then I shot a bow in college, ruined ever since. Backwoods Hillbilly who decided that us "mountain folk" where not ignorant. Since I am not sharp enough to be a biologist, I decided to look at the land and dedicate my professional life to leaving it better than I found it.
Bow hunting, all hunting, fishing, habitat, working landscapes, public lands, music, and golf
" A conservationist is one who is humbly aware that with each stroke [of the axe] he is writing his signature on the face of the land."
