Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x56 Illuminated FireDot Duplex Scope

New in box, Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x56 Illuminated FireDot Duplex Scope. Bought for a long range hunting rifle build, but decided to go in another direction. Scope was never mounted on any gun, has all original packaging, excepting the plastic shrink wrap on the outside of the box. (The picture with...

    Deer - lets see em

About an hour outside Columbia SC. Had to teach myself to hunt with the help of YouTube essentially. 42 sits over two seasons with nothing to show for it until this guy stepped out chasing a doe and I made my opportunity count. 125” is officially classified as a trophy by DNR for South...

    20 Gauge Pheasant Loads?

Was talking to a professional pheasant guide in South Dakota a month ago - his preferred set up was regular vanilla #5 lead shot in 2 3/4” shells paired with an improved choke. Spending $20+ per box for “upland” pheasant loads is mostly marketing…

    Spatchcock turkey?

I did - went moderatley heavy with Cajun Two Step. This stuff is money. Not spicy in the slightest (there’s a Two Step Fire version for that if you want it) but incredibly savory and complements the bird perfectly. https://www.walmart.com/ip/514113803

    Spatchcock turkey?

I spatchcocked a 21lb turkey for thanksgiving, brined for 24 hrs, and smoked it. Some of the best I’ve ever tasted.

The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen

Daniel Boone once famously said (paraphrase) that if he could see the smoke from another man's chimney rising over a nearby ridge he knew he was too close to civilization and needed to head west. That indomitable drive to explore wild places is what fueled so much of our westward expansion.

Your top 3 picks for a concealed carry?

I love my P365 sized IWB carry pistols... but lately I've been gravitating towards Ruger LCP .380 sized micro compacts because they're just so comfortable to carry. So I'd have to say: ~ Sig P365 ~ Ruger LCP ~ S&W Shield (for the woods)

who all here has friends who served in ww2

One of my grandfathers was a paratrooper in the 101st (Screaming Eagles) and jumped over Sicily and was wounded and then jumped over Holland and was wounded again. Lost a leg and had a shrapnel wound in his other knee that never healed for the rest of his life. Freedom isn't free. My other...

    30-06 ammo shortage?

I'm finding it semi-consistently on shelves in Columbia SC. Heard from an industry insider recently though that a couple of the major rifle manufacturers are really slowing the number of 30-06 rifles they're producing due to lower demand.
