Kansas is still good but not what it was 10+ years ago. A jaw dropper could pop out but realistically a solid 3 year old is the norm for most folks hunting public. Plenty of walkin and reservoirs to hunt all throughout the state. Do some air photo research and pick some country that looks good.
I made the switch about two years ago. I pulled out of some long shot draws and spent those funds on out of state spring turkey tags and fishing trips in other states. Its been a great decision and I get to see new country. I am still in for western draws just not ones with dismall draw odds...

Freezer and generator. Dry ice works too but is expensive and one or two trips using dry ice you could have purchased a cheap 7 cubic foot freezer. Small inverter generators like generac a 2200 or 2500 work great for this and they can be used for many things.
I remember a time when you could get two antelope buck tags in Wyoming. One through the draw and then buy an additional leftover buck tag with zero points. This was all around the economic down turn in 2008ish and a few years afterwards. Hunting was awesome. Few people and game everywhere...
