    WY APP QUESTION

If a state doesn’t over allocate, then the entire group won’t get tags and they will move to the next application. They will not just give one tag to a member of the group. I agree that issuing an additional 3 tags shouldn’t matter, but this is the policy of some states (like New Mexico I believe).

    WY APP QUESTION

Fantastic explanation! For the OP, the question you asked can be summed up into one short question of “will X state over allocate tags for a group application?”. It’s a good question because many states will not. If you are dealing with limited tags, it sometimes drives you to apply as an...

    2026 controlled hunts

@WildWill and @Lostinthewoods I drew and took a cow in the last February hunt this past season. Let me know if you have any questions happy to share my experience. This is a pic we took after I shot my cow the first evening.

    2026 Colorado draw results

Just received the moose unsuccessful email. Hopefully they’ll start the rest of the draw tomorrow.

    2026 Colorado draw results

The waiting is killing me! 1. First question, when do you predict the results will be released? 2. What was your strategy this year in Colorado? Burning points before the change in 2028 or saving points and looking forward to the random draw? 3. Share your recent Colorado success...

    2026 Utah

Wasn’t there a back door way to check results earlier? I seem to recall a discussion about this.

    MT- M/S/G results 26

Very respectfully, I think that would be a bad idea. We already have an issue with new and younger hunters joining the application pools vastly behind those that have been participating for decades before them. To allow inheritance of points would further exacerbate the problem. Instead of...

How old is too old to apply for physical hunts?

Well I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and I am optimistic that I can expand the window of continued hard hunting through my 60s. I had previously assumed that in my early 60s, I’d have to slow down, but I’m inspired by the examples I’m hearing. I eat okay, but workout consistently and can...

How old is too old to apply for physical hunts?

In my defense I think my question is more focused than the other thread. Really looking at tough and physically demanding hunts. I have no expectation that I will receive a definitive age at which folks are too old, but we are hearing from real life examples of folks that are in their 60s and...

How old is too old to apply for physical hunts?

I like the “no motorcycles” comment 😂 They’re a source of serious injury the way I see it.

How old is too old to apply for physical hunts?

I agree there isn’t a single answer, but there can be examples of what others have experienced based on their own personal experience. That’s what I’m asking.

How old is too old to apply for physical hunts?

I was just reading the comments in another thread about moose, sheep and goat applications and I saw several members here indicating that they are getting up there in years and are considering not applying in the future. As I write this post, I’m 54 and hoping to retire in a couple years and...

    Red Dots for Muzzleloaders

I have the Leupold red dot on my paramount really like it. I took a mule deer buck last fall in Utah by making an offhand standing shot at 75 yards with it. It’s way easier to see than the peep sight, but only a couple states allow it.
