My ex-wife stripped the finish off my old Savage 110 wood stock.
Once she got the brown paint excuse of a stain off of it, we were amazed at the grain in the wood.
She used some white oak stain and polyurethane.
I have another wood stock for a 110 that I want to try Shou-sugi-ban on.
It's...
You could always do the same as a radiator cap replacement.
Where you take off the radiator cap and pull a different vehicle in. Put radiator cap on.
In this case, remove the Remington emblem and put it on a Savage.
Lol
Also, @Bullshot , the ammo factories are supposed to keep loads safe.
Look at cartridges like the 257 Roberts, 45-70, and 45 Colt.
There are different pressure levels for those cartridges depending on the firearm being used.
Factory doesn't know what firearm you have. Or what you're likely...
On the 30-06 case i have (2) 25-06, a 280 Rem and a 270 Win.
Oddly enough all of them are Ruger rifles.
On the 7X57 Mauser case, my daughter is shooting a Mauser in 7X57 Mauser. I have a Ruger in 257 Roberts, and a Savage in 257 Roberts AI.
And now i have 2 Weatherby Magnums also.
Oops...
I picked up Norma brass for my 257 WBY. Holding up good so far.
For my 7mm WBY, I managed to get some Peterson brass.
I have 5 loads on some of them, and are holding up well also.
I use a variety of different brass for the 7mm Rem Mag. The rifle likes it on the high side.
I usually get 5-6...
Some years ago (7-10), Remington had a recall on their green box 270 Win ammo.
They ended up being loaded hot.
One of the guys I work with had the chamber deform and mechanism lock up on his Remington pump action rifle.
I found the recall, and showed it to him.
He forgot about it and that...
Bowling pins work well also.
Picked up a bunch from the local alley. Their old used ones were going for 25¢ each.
Dropped $10 on them.
Things hold up really well!!
Shoot everything from .410 with #7.5 shot through 7mm WBY at them.
Harder to hit than a milk jug.
When done, pick them up...
