7 rem mag and 139 grain hornady
Depends on which bullet you're using. The Interlock expands well, yet holds together fairly well also. The SST is a whole other story. They can be kinda splody. Better would be a 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip.- std7mag

Fall bear frustrations
What large animals are in the area? Elk, mule deer, white tailed deer? I've had success seeing bears while using white tailed fawn and cow elk bleats. Make it sound wounded or can't find it's mom. I typically use it for coyotes. But half the time I get bears coming in. Bobcat several times...- std7mag

Compounds- How old is too old?
I still have and shoot a 1992 Golden Eagle Hawk Carbine. My wife has and shoots an old Bear compound. Circa 1980s. I think it's set up for 35lb pull and has I believe a 50% let off. -

Just checked my local distributor/wholesaler. They don't have RL22 in stock. But they do have RL23. $53.85 per pound. Surprisingly enough they also have Unique for $43.95 a pound. Guess a shopping trip is in order.- std7mag

7mm-08 150 gr velocity in short barrel
