Old Rifles and Barnes Original Bullets. .277/180 gr RN. 7mm195 gr. RN, 30 cal 250 gr. RN,,,anybody else use them?

When Barnes came out with their original X bullet it was a great bullet! People were saying that with higher velocities that the petals would break off. Causing multiple wound tracks while the base kept driving through. Performed like a Hammer or Cutting Edge of today. Then some idiot...

    7mm-08 load for Weatherby

From my experience with a first gen Vangard. Get rid of it! That is the only rifle in my 60 years that I was glad to see go! If it's not shooting accurately, it'll drive you to drink! And not in the good way! 😉

I gotta check with the Game Commission on what they require to check it in. Last year I did the gutless method on 2 does that I got on the last day. Took a little more time in the field, but was SOOO much easier to pack out! There is one State Game Lands that crosses private property to get...

    Here's a first

More information needed! What cartridge? What bullet? Does it even need a crimp? I'm shooting 7mm WBY Mag without a crimp. Friend shooting 300 Win Mag without a crimp. 45-70 I do a light roll crimp, but my bullets are not cannelured.

    Opinions please!!!

The biggest issue that I have with Vortex is that they tend to flare out easily. Never had to send one in for warranty work. Been using a couple for 10+ years. I whole heartedly agree with @mtmuley on the Sightron scopes! I have (3). An SII 4-12X40 AO with MOA reticle. A STAC 4-20X56 MOA2...

Actually, I can't use the 257 Weatherby that I bought from you. They have a caliber restriction in PA for elk. Going to be using my Mark V Weathermark LT in 7mm WBY. Now need to get on the elk since they redid the zones.

But I finally got drawn in PA's elk lottery. Woohoo!!! 3rd season (January) cow in zone 308.

Decided to try a new Rifle 6.8 Western

I've heard other people say about the Ballistic Tip"blowing up ". In the 42 years of using them in multiple calibers and cartridges I've never had that issue. I've always gotten a pass through with them. As I've said, 20ft through 500 yards. If you're going mono bullets, I'd do either Hammer...

    Alliant Reloader 26 worth???

Absolutely agree with @antelopedundee!! Whole different ball game between RL25 and RL26! But if you're in the market to buy, both are equivalent to unicorn horn.

    Howa 1500 25 creedmoor

Not quite sure how the 25 caliber is going to be easier on barrels than a 6.5? Right now I have 7 different 25 caliber cartridges. Let us know your opinion on the Howa 1500 action and stock trigger. I've been seeing some fairly inexpensive that I have been thinking of doing a couple of...

Decided to try a new Rifle 6.8 Western

@Jnasa, I had gotten a few boxes of the 150gr ABLR for 7mm a few years ago. I did my usual load work up for them (powder ladder test followed by seating depth) in all 5 of my 7mm rifles. Nothing finiky about loading them. All shot really well. When stretching the distance, I had to change...

    New Bolt Action Rifle Recommendations

Personally, I'd probably go with something like this. https://www.eurooptic.com/sauer-100-classic-xt-270-win-rifle-s1s270
