    There's a trilogy by Ivan Doig that begins with English Creek that is some of the best writing I've ever read. Old west homesteading and love and loss type stuff. Doig's personal memoir, This House of Sky, is equally amazing.

    Chico Hot Springs and elk

    My wife and I love going there too. She has a birthday in mid-November and we like to go there so she can soak and get a massage while I hunt Mule Deer. Not sure there's a better (developed) place for a weekend getaway.

    Welcome - I came to Montana after being raised in southern California. Took me 21 years to get here but it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
