It's a fair question, but as someone who is spending that $900 this year, it will be worth it for me regardless of the result. I'm only going to hunt blacktails in WA, so this allows me the opportunity to hunt whitetails/mule deer as well + the long season gives me enough flexibility that I can...
Seems like there is a lot of variability in this, might be related to some of what atlas is mentioning (from Ruggerone et al. 2023)
"Subadult Chinook salmon have been found extensively in offshore areas of the NPO and BS, where they overlap with pink salmon (Major et al. 1978, Myers et al...
"Schultz said R&D is an important function, but the Forest Service has identified a lot of redundancies since research outposts have often been autonomous. By putting all of it under one umbrella, the agency can be more specific about how it conducts its various research and, subsequently...
Yeah I hadn't heard of this either. Got nothing but good things to say about Rapid River though, I know a bunch of guys who have Rapid River knives that love them. I'm cheap (and I tend to lose knives), otherwise I would have one or two myself.

I don't have any comparisons to Kowa or Swarovski glass but I just got an S1.S on sale and have been really impressed with it. No complaints so far on my end.
Anybody use these/have any experience with them? I'm in the market for a new pair of binoculars and these seem pretty intriguing. I'm particularly interested in the 10x50s because I want all the brightness I can get hunting blacktails. Seems like there aren't many 10x50 options in this price...
Stress responses (i.e. elevated cortisol, glucose, lactate etc) in fish post-capture have been pretty thoroughly studied. Not saying we all need to start munching bean sprouts, but denying the existence of any stress/impact doesn't do us any good either. Worth examining so we at least know what...
