    If you can get west of the burned areas you will find elk, a large portion of the herd were pushed east into other units as crews and aircraft fought the fires. These elk have stayed out of unit 22 so far, it was a very big fire.

    Tent/sleeping bag help?

    Definitely a dome tent, and get the lightest down packable bag you can afford. In September the mosquitos are leveling off but the flies are ramping up. At least with a dome you have a bug screen to keep them off you at night.

    There is no benefit to applying as a group, again, NO BENEFIT so get that foolish notion your of your heads. You each need to apply on your own. I'm still not sure why the CPW even has that as an option on getting the tags.

    As stated above, Cerro cast the chamber (easy to do and not expensive). Figure out ‘what’ it is chambered to. But seeing the bulge in the brass at the base is a no-go. Get a new barrel, go the Douglas site, match your barrel profile or call and get a new one then chamber it per your bolt face.
