That’s exactly my point! Let that wolf population increase along with bears and lions and deer and elk heards are going to get thin. Wolves are very efficient predators. I’ll give 99% more lions. A few are sighted on occasion but there is no evidence of a breeding population.
The wolf population in Montana is about 1/3 of the wolf population in northern Minnesota. Be interesting to see what happens if the Montana wolf population is allowed to triple.
I’ve been around long enough to see a modest deer heard along the north shore explode in the 90’s. Then decrease to more modest numbers. Followed by a significant decline. The deer heard along the north shore appears to have been increasing slightly now the last couple of years and the harvest...
I grew up in northeast MN, where I now live. Wolves have always been here. I’ve had hundreds of encounters with them. Sometimes I don’t mind them around but sometimes I wonder if the old timers had the right idea when they went through great efforts to exterminate them. They are just a large...
You are braver than me. I had a skunk coming my way a few years ago and I got up and moved. The skunk, gobbler, and myself all got out of the situation unscathed.
I’m missing something here. Seems like the cops were just playing a silly game that encouraged them to do their job. This is certainly better than hanging out and not doing their job.
Yep. If you trim their tail they have a little less power but what I ended up doing was just let them swim to the bottom and then they would be content. I’ve heard of people using down rigger clips as well.
This was the first time I’ve ice fished for pike in ages so I’m by no means dialed in. We were strictly tip-up fishing. The other guys all had fancy tip-up systems that used a regular ice rod. I just had the old fashioned tip-ups. I think hand lining is more fun, just personal preference...
I was just throwing words out there but I guess a giant in my mind would be 45”, a mark that I’ve never hit. I think any pike over 36” is big. They start to get the big pike look at that point. It’s not always easy to get big fish through the hole, as one guy figured out the other day...
