100% on archery animals that's I've hit. Rifle and muzzleloader is a different story, but I'm probably still over 95%. -
Recommendations for a bow for my wife
A PSE Mach 1, Levitate or Mach 30 are awesome bows. My lady refuses to upgrade her Mach 1 as it fits her so well at 5'2. -

Rifle Elk Caliber and Bullet Choice for 2023
7mm PRC 175gr ELD-X. I have an archery only permit in MT so hopefully I don't have to try the new rifle but if I do it'll be in a general unit somewhere. -
How things have changed, looking at new bows
I would take a look at a carbon bow. The price tag for a new one is harsh but you can find used one for reasonable prices. The Carbon Era from Elite sounds like it's up your wheelhouse. -

Carry a spare release in the field?
I shoot a Nock On Nock 2 It, so it's a small handheld that doesn't take up much space and it weighs a few oz. -
Carry a spare release in the field?
I carry an extra release in my bino harness that is the exact same as my primary. I learned my lesson and won't be making that mistake again.
