Testing has shown 3-4 a decibel reduction at most by throwing a .223 endcap on a .308 bore suppressor on ARs. Every 10 db is a ten-fold increase in intensity - so it's not entirely negligible.

Unsuccessful on elk again this year, unsuccessful on pronghorn as well. 5 pref points on pronghorn was the very lowest I saw draw on published data from last year so I wasn't super hopeful.
