Second to the comments on how much you value your truck and size of truck. I usually use my ATV, and on so many of the trails, I would not take my truck....but I meet people with trucks on them. And many times the trail is narrow enough I have to back up to find a spot to pull off with just a...
I have a PDF of the lease document we use in CO. However, it is only the pdf, and I don't have the word doc original. So you would have to re-type if want to replicate...it is 4 pages, plus an additional page release. PM me if interested and I can redact some of the personal info and share...
Good luck! On your recovery - follow those orders, but key once you can is walk.....A LOT. Walk walk and more walk, post surgery the nerve pain will be gone almost instantly, except for some possible nerve flareups that can take some time, but in general you will have a new pain from the...
Second on the core work....I had the L4/5 diiscectomy twice 2002, 2004 and then a fusion in 2006. I am fine now, but if you can fix it with core work, much better. You will know when it is time to have surgery IF that happens - you cannot function and are ready to take a knife and dig into your...
I do this annually and you are on the right track. A planted bird deal is always a great option as it works for all levels of hunting...key is to know your clients expectations - do they need more catered to or not? Do they want to shoot a lot of birds or just get out and enjoy some time away...
npaden - good on ya and good reply. Some of the replies were why i didn't post weights. And yes, some scary stuff can happen towing, especially as you can attest to. And some of it is in our control and some of it not. Adjusting to conditions is a lot of it though. Be those conditions of...
Pullin a 5th wheel is SO much nicer than a bumper pull, so much less sway and yes to all your comments on tracking. And for a few trips per year, definitely want to stay with a 3/4 ton. Leave the battling the 1ton duallys for the full timers. I do not have experience with toy haulers and...
Looks like a good one, and yes even with a roller fairlead, up and down of a plow wears through them. I have went the Warn route and used their synthetic rope for the few replacements I have done, but I think the one you have is a good match. And again, with the plow, NONE of them will last...
in unit 100, most all roads should be passable, save a large storm. There are enough guys chekcing some oil rigs along that triterritory road that they get travelled. Roads in 100 turn to crap when they are wet and just sticky gumbo. So beware of fresh rains or thaws more than anything...
Funny how some of the same "resorts" keep popping up. I will second the Nullaviq Inn in Kotzebue, along with the Casper Motel 6. And glad we made the choice to avoid teh Warbonnet Inn in Browning and just keep on driving.
Congrats - such an awesome story and shows how they can be tough to find at times. Awesome experience and lessons there for any elk hunter and for your son.
Congrats!!!! I am not a big poster, but really enjoy your writeups and taking us along for the ups and downs always. Way to grind it out and share the reality that comes in those moments. Congrats!
I just renewed my passport and got passports for my 13yo and 15yo it took over 4 months to receive!!! Plan ahead if you need or pay for the "special draw" and go the expedited route. Ridiculous that it takes that long.
