Sun and Bug shirt
Agreed with a few folks on here you're better off getting whatever sun shirt you prefer and applying permethrin. I like Outdoor Research Echo shirts, but countless options from mountaineering/backpacking brands that are very effective and not much different.- llw

Not sure what privilege you think attaches to contact info for public employees. But yes I agree game wardens shouldn’t be driving a desk all day. I just know in other states I have been able to talk to a biologist from game and fish, and that has been helpful in addition to other scouting... -

Answering my own question for posterity. In short, the answer is no. The wardens are all biologists but they don’t take calls in the field and they’re unlikely to be in the office when you call. The person I spoke with just directed me to the info on my unit available on the website. -

Colorado Unit 18 Conditions following fire in 2020
Unit 18 is fine enough I’m a novice and got into some elk first day of 3rd rifle this past year just based on determined e-scouting. Also saw lots of mule deer and a black bear. Plenty of game for an attainable tag I’d be more worried about the crowds than the burn. -

Drew a 5A early rifle hunt with one bonus point and no experience. Who can send the gps coordinates of where the elk are? Preferably big bulls. Heading from trailhead would also work but only if you include precise distance. Thanks- llw
