Yeah thats the trade off. I feel that my fisherman solo is harder to paddle than my grumman for the same reason. I guess it depends if you are solo or not.- Klappy

Sleeping in truck or tent
Seems like everyone is moving towards the truck option. Wish my crew max tundra had a 6' bed so I wouldn't have to sleep kitty corner. I can add that if its really windy the tent fly slapping can make it hard to sleep.- Klappy

I was just going to mention sportspal. Same idea as the radisson canoes. I always wanted one, next time I see one on craigslist i'm gonna snatch it up. I grew up in aluminum canoes with a flat bottom and a keel. I now also own a Wenonah fisherman. It's wide, quiet, and tough, slides over...- Klappy

Bird dog questions
My pointing lab was never in his prime for upland until the highs were in the 30's even then if it was a south slope and the sun was out he could over heat himself pretty quickly. If it was 10 degrees and the wind was blowing he was good to go. Not sure about the mud in the prairie potholes but...- Klappy

I recently finished "Labyrinth of Ice" By Buddy Levy. Great read and very entertaining. Makes the inconveniences of this Covid ordeal seem very "mild" compared to the struggle those guys went through. Andy- Klappy
