I have two pair of Keen's, very comfortable and light. They are good for barbecuing and short day hunts, fishing etc but my feet would explode if I tried offroading with weight in a pack in them.

I spent a few days in Desolation last week hiking and fishing but saw no deer and very little sign, none above 7,500 ft. Lots of trucks parked along the road when I came out Saturday. This heat is a deal killer for me, you have 2 more months to get it done, patience is a virtue.
I watched it beginning to end and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm glad they ended it by staying with the historical conclusion and didn't try to make up new stories just to prolong the show.
Kind of an anti-social hunter myself. Sounds like you guys have the same problem and that is two kinds of hunting buddies, ones you will never waste your time in the woods with again and ones who beg to go with you but you know better than to take them.
