    Too tired these days....

Gunner, . If nothing comes to mind that might be the cause of this then I'd recommend having blood work done. Hopefully it's just old age and nothing else :)

    Shipping Gear

I've read on here that some guys ship gear to and from hunts to save on airfare cost or to allow meat to be brought back. I'm planning on shipping most of my kit as well. I'm looking for ideas or referrals as to what type of container you've used. I currently have a Plano tote/foot locker that I...

    Life lessons

A few life lessons from John No matter how fun or easy it is, it's much cheaper to buy fish from your local store than the cost of fines after getting caught fishing in a hatchery. I was 16 at the time and me and a buddy thought we'd never get caught! It's bad juju to urinate between the bushes...

    solar recharge units.

I just recently purchased and received a solar charger from Levin on Amazon.com after reading some reviews from another hunting forum. I've not tried it with my phone dead yet so I cannot give a true evaluation. Here is the link if you want to check it out...

Elk hunt's, fires and sleepless nights....

That's a tough one, if ODFW is willing to work with you I'd take that route. The area that I'm headed to in Idaho has a few wild fires as well. If it get's to the point like you're facing I can only hope IDFG does the same considering I'm coming from Georgia.

    Dalton Hwy Caribou

Congratulations! That's a fine looking bull. The meat is absolutely incredible as well!

    Another disease spread by ticks

Guys and Gals, I'm not sure how many are aware of this. Alpha-Gal is a tickborne allergy which causes you to become allergic to meat. It is spread by the Lone star tick which is slowly making it's way north. Here is a link to the article. Please spread the word...

    Non-Obvious stuff

While I may not agree with Cushman on his selection of footwear, I would highly recommend a comfy pair of slip on shoes to wear around camp. It's amazing how good a pair of Crocs will feel after wearing your hunting boots for 12-14 hours. This is one of funniest, most useful posts I've seen in...

    .270 wsm

I was seriously thinking of using my 270wsm for elk this year for the Idaho rifle season. After talking to a buddy who is from Idaho he recommended I bring my 338WinMag. The area we will be hunting seems like it's fairly heavily timbered so I was thinking that the heavier bullet would have a...

    Free Carfax report

Earlier this year when we purchased my wife's used car the dealership gave us a copy of the Carfax report. I asked the salesman how accurate they are. He said that they are fairly accurate but the reports are sometimes delayed in getting processed into the system. Still it's better than nothing!

Handy Skills You Do and Don't Possess

Reading this made my night! I consider myself a jack of all trades and a master of none! I a perfectionist at half assing things. I have enough tools to be able to fix or build things but it all goes down hill once I start. I'm a tool-a-holic even though I don't use or know how to use most of...

    Travel Tips

I've not seen an entire thread dedicated for travel tips. I know most threads have tips here and there. I thought it would be easier to create a thread to help others out with tips and tricks. I'll be flying with a firearm for the first time this Oct for an elk hunt in Idaho. Hopefully my return...

    Dalton Hwy Caribou

Me and a buddy did the Haul road hunting in 11 & 12.Both times we missed the mass migration but still saw a decent amount of Bou. As mentioned earlier, it's not uncommon to have your stalk messed up by another hunter. Most times its unintentional. The terrain looks easy to navigate but it's...
