Go over to the state of alaska site. (www.ak.state.us/) They have a ton of info regarding when the various kinds of fish are at their best and where. Don't neglect Valdez as a place to fish out of. lilbiggun - If you are talking the caribou creek down by the nebesna road and up to the tanana you will be covering lots of ground. Lots of bears around about 105 mile down to about 60 mile. Around the little tok & tok river drainages are killers for bear. Find the old road sections to kick off...- John/Alaska

Black Bear Hunting
Just a point of clarification of the fly no hunt same day rule. If you happen to fly in on a scheduled flight there is no waiting period. The rule applies to chartered flights.- John/Alaska

I take it you are hunting moose? Where abouts?? (Just checked another post) In a couple of weeks I'll start my search for black bears doing spot & stalk/call hunt with my recurve. Maybe later spring a griz hunt. Just waiting for the snow to go!- John/Alaska

Buffalo
I put in for a buffalo every year here in Alaska. And have so far been unlucky at drawing. Yes we have several huntable herds here. Only in the Delta hunts could a tow truck be used. Its a wimp hunt compared to the others but I still put in for it as my 3rd choice. The others are far too remote...- John/Alaska

Joel - Tok again in May?? You KNOW that we don't have bears here! Don't worry it will be hot. Usually is in late may with all that day light. Don't woory though as the beer is cold at the Lodge!
