I am an adult onset hunter. I came from a mostly non hunting family and although I hunted a little in my teens, for birds mostly, and have always shot traditional bow I never became a hunter. When my son expressed an interest in hunting when he was about 9, four years ago, I sought out friends and family to teach me.
I have since had the good fortune of being able, through friends and relatives to hunt antelope in WY and pigs in MS. I also, with the help of a good friend, was able to put my son on his first WI whitetail when he was 11. I myself remain an unsuccessful whitetail hunter but keep trying.
I will be able to hunt WY antelope again this October and am super excited. My son and I will be trying for anything from doves to deer all fall long. Next year we hope to try elk in CO. I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge I have gleaned as a “lurker” here and on the podcast and youtube channel. Looking forward to many days in the woods with my kids and friends!
