Planning my first Texas hog hunt - any input is appreciated....
You better have a place secured to hunt before you head to Texas. Lots of outfitters can provide hunts reasonably close to Austin, but public hunting areas are scarce.- Huntnut60

Henry vs Armadillo
When we were kids, with low poundage recurves, we shot a bunch of them. The arrow never passed through and you could on breaking/losing at least one arrow before the creature made it to it’s den.- Huntnut60

Private pilot's license
I was eating at the Airpot Diner in Fredericksburg when a couple flew their gyroplane in from Killeen for breakfast. They were both in their late 60s and both had a pilots license. Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?
If we are talking about tags that were not influenced by bonus/preference points, New Mexico for me. 2 antelope tags, 1 deer tag, and a gemsbok tag as a non-resident.- Huntnut60

12 yr old altitude sickness
The best answer to this is Diamox, if you can get a Dr to prescribe it for a 12 year old. All of these other remedies/preventions “might” help. You will never know until you get him at higher altitude again.- Huntnut60
