    Kennetrek Fit

This^^ I know how badly you want to wear them cuz I did too and I had the same experience in the store. I ended up buying a pair that felt like the arch was in the right place but after a lot of miles (thinking the boot was still breaking in) it turned out the boot was probably too small...

    Kimber rifles who has them?

I used to own the exact rifle your looking at. It was beautiful and if it shot as good as it looked I would still have it. Unfortunately, it didn’t. They call it Kimber roulette, some shoot and some need lots of tweaking to get there.

    Boot insulation

I would lean more towards 200 or even none. I can get away with 200 almost always in Montana during November rifle. I typically hike and don’t do much sitting though. If I do sit for awhile, my feet can get cold, which tells me it’s time to move again. I bought some 600 gram this year and they...

boots - Kenetrek vs Schnees vs Irish Setters

What about Danner? I think the good Danners deserve a look too. I have tried quite a few boots and I always come back to Danner. I wanted to love Kenetrek, but my feet couldn’t. I wore them for probably 100 miles and the only thing that broke in were my feet. My heels were blistered/bloodied for...

    Remington X-Mark Pro Trigger

On any new Remingtons, the first thing I do is replace the X-mark with a Timney. The new X-marks are junk and aren't even worth trying to tune. Older X-marks were not as bad. I cant remember when they changed them, but there is a difference.

    Windplex reticle

I have a windplex with the CDS and it is pretty handy. Definitely more precise then holding into the wind... Is it worth the effort? I wouldn't change my reticle, but I might use it as an excuse to get a new scope!

Spotting scope size, style and phonescopes

I bought an angled scope first but found that I mostly use it for taking a closer look at game that I’ve already spotted with my binos, whether From a pickup window or along the trail. I do a lot of hiking and the angled scope didn’t fit in my pack vey well. I sold it and bought a straight and...

    H&S Precision Stocks

I have a Remington 700 SF CDL in 300 win mag that I dropped into an HS precision. The HS was just slightly heavier than the factory wood stock which I didn't mind because I thought it would help tame the recoil. It looks better and is more durable. Yes recoil is strong, but its a 300 so what do...

    Montana 704 Custer Elk Hunt

Best chance to draw and/or have a successful elk hunt is archery. I've had the rifle tag twice and it is a frustrating hunt so I quit applying for this unit years ago. It can be done but don't go in with high expectations.

    Sleeping bag recommendations?

Ive had Good luck with Marmot bags. Had both synthetic and down. I prefer down if you can avoid getting it wet. It's lighter and compresses a little better plus it seems to retain its loft better then the synthetic over time. Don't store either type compressed, lay them out or put them into a...

    FS: Vortex Razor 16-48x65mm Angled

Vortex Razor 16-48X65mm angled eye piece with end caps and case. Glass is perfect. Body is pretty much like new except for a couple paint scratches on the tripod adapter base. This is an awesome scope, I'm just switching to a straight eye piece. $800 shipped TYD CONUS. Posted in other locations...

    Spotting Scope cover?

Looking for suggestions for spotting scope cover. Thinking neoprene, I don't want something bulky, just something to protect the scope in my pack and in the field. Its for a Swarovski STS 65mm.
