Family Vehicle
Of all the ones mentioned, I'd lean Chevy Tahoe, or Toyota Sequoia, or even a third row Toyota 4Runner. If you are loaded, the Toyota Land Cruiser would be my choice then.- Hudge76

Best .308 parent case cartridge
Dang, after reading this thread, I'm going to have to go buy another 7mm-08 as I haven't had one in about 15 years. I do have a .260 Rem. and like it, but you really need to handload for it to get maximum accuracy etc. -

If it were me, I'd not choose Western WA or OR. I'd look at the options in ID as mentioned, or add Colorado Springs, CO. I would choose the springs over Denver any day of the week. I'd also look to WY or MT, even Utah would probably be on my list.- Hudge76

I would try MO or KS. I'd also add MT with the BMA lands there are lots of opportunities. Lots of good deer hunting to be had in those states. You might also add Arkansas, as since they implemented antler restrictions nearly 20 years ago, they are getting some big bucks where a 4 point was big... -

Yes, that area of high pressure isn't going anywhere until a low pressure kicks is up out of the way. As we say in the weather community, big bubble, no trouble. Of course TS are now forecast for next week so expect even more fires.- Hudge76

Finally got my piece of the Alaskan dream!
I was going to ask how close you are to Montana Creek where the fire is, but I see it above. It's not looking pretty. I live in Wasilla and usually bear hunt in Willow, but I've been out of the country working. I get back to Alaska in 27 days and I can't wait!- Hudge76

Alaska Mental Health Trust?
The MHT is now wanting to charge a $500 fee for ATV's to access their land. I do know some popular atving sports are on MHT lands. I am all for paying my part, but $500 a year?- Hudge76

If it's a ML only hunt you are required to take ML Education and have completed the proficiency test. I would think that would have been covered in the class. I still have to take bow hunters education so I can start bow hunting more.- Hudge76

Moose guns.
Take this for what it's worth, as I have yet to shoot a moose. I carry my .30-06 with 180 Barnes TTSX, or my .300 WM or 300WSM with 180 gr. Accubonds for moose. If caribou and moose overlap, I carry my 270WSM with 150 gr. Accubonds, and my son carries a ,270 Win or .308 Win.- Hudge76
