    True. Implicit in my hastily assembled argument is the fact that NM is mostly coasting off a reputation gained years ago. I’ve been on a number of “HQ” deer hunts that were terrible. Elk is better off but it’s a short season, reduced trophy potential, drought ridden and just not the same...

    You may well be right but AZ didn’t crank up NR costs like NM did.. the cost to buy another elk point and stay in the game didn’t change in AZ, even if odds continue to erode. In NM the odds have been bad for awhile but the cost to play just jumped… I for one was more ambivalent about...

    Horse meat- one of the more perplexing American taboos. My brother in law sells a lot of it to Russian immigrants via custom slaughter. I honestly can’t recall if I’ve had it or not, but if not, that’s a shame

    I’m a second hand jeep guy- better value and simper to fix and maintain than a sxs with expensive parts. Actually have been hunting out of a 97 Suzuki Jimny this year which is great for two hunters or less. Any more than that and you gotta go bigger. Was awesome to turn on the heat (or AC)...
