If you are focused on meat hunting, consider a calf or yearling. A nasty old rutting bull or a cow that has been tending one or more calves will not be the best table fare compared to a younger moose from my experience.

68 here. Spent all day yesterday running a couple chainsaws. Just got back from a 5 mile hike. One hour of free weights this afternoon. Next three days running saws on at our hunting property in NY. Keep moving !!!!
