I'm in the same situation, really wanting to get into black bear hunting in wyoming. Just looking for any advice an experienced person could give an amateur.
That's great! I lived in central Nebraska for a while. I still give my friends out there a hard time about it. The only thing I really miss about that state is the whitetail and pheasant hunting!
i used to work in the oil field around Baggs WY, the wind was so bad we had to rig up either before sun up or after sunset. that was the only time the wind didn't blow!!
i am just about the opposite! I've hunted them my entire life started with my grandfather before i can even remember. i have never really hunted anything but the Bighorns and the badlands up to them. it is amazing country you see something new every time you go out but im sure its the same...
i guess i am blessed to live in the bighorn basin. i've worked all over the state and am thankful we don't get the wind here that the rest of the state gets. but when it gets cold it stays cold.
i am also interested in trying a spring black bear hunt in the Bighorn's. ive never hunter bear at all before just trying to get out more than Elk, Deer, and Antelope. i know a few guys that hunt them but they are reluctant to give me any info like im going to steal their spot or something...
