If your going with Ford skip the 3/4 ton and go straight to a 350 single rear wheel. No drawbacks, all gain. And now there is much more differences between the 2 then there ever was. Fords putting a smaller lighter duty transmission in the 250s....
For what its worth, yes the parallax thing is technically true. But not enough to matter to me. My vx3 is fixed parallax and has no issues stacking bullets in one big hole at any yardage
I setup my 22 for max point blank range. So with a plus or minus a half inch (1 inch pipe) my MPBR is 65 yards. I could dial and shoot further but my 22 has a vx2 3-9 on it and it does fantastic. If I was buying again id go smaller like your thinking and move that scope to my 17 hmr (+/- .5"...
My dad shot alot of deer with 140 gr ssts out of his 7rm. Its a darn deer laser. They will die and quickly. I shoot 162eldxs out of my 7rm. Its also a deer laser. I shoot high shoulder and 90% of them simply flop over
Also that's by sales volume. And not surprisingly all the highest volume sales are for ar calibers. Because rounds go quick when your shooting an ar. I dont think thay has alot to do with being a cheapskate. A better idea is to walk into Walmart ans see the always stocked hunting calibers and...
I save 50% or more off the cost of factory ammo by reloading. It is indeed for cheepskates. It saves alot of money. It can also be a hobby. But still saves money.
I personally like bowtechs for the features, accuracy and adjustability and I can do everything at my house. I need no "bow guy" at the local shop ever. But most importantly go shoot them in person. Its literally like speed dating. You can not go off anyone's brand or preferences on here. You...
It i was you id load some 150 eldx for deer and some 110 gr vmaxs for varmits and have two loads. That 150 is a sweet compromise between bc and keeping some muzzle velocity. I shoot the 162 out of my 7rm. By all means the 162 would probably shoot great out of yours too.
It makes sense the weight comes back. Folks on it have lost most muscle and their basal metabolic rate (metabolism) is much lower. So if you stop, your far worse off than before you started at all, your body burns so much less calories than before (when you had more muscle mass) and now extra...
I always trapped them in a small live trap with cat food. Then dispatched them with a 12 gauge with a 3.5" turkey shell (4 shot) aimed at head front half, from about 15 yards or so. Full choke. Most of the time they didn't spray.
My ultimate goal is to make the 243 a varmit gun with 87 gr vmaxs, but if deer hunting is how im getting it in out in the field this year then that's what itll do
Thanks guys. Got it sighted in yesterday. Think I'll be good to go.
Mostly was wondering since I don't trust my muzzleloader with a high shoulder shot and the 243 is new to me. Was a treat to sight in. No recoil at all. Looks like itll be a fun gun to put rounds through and hunt with
