And anything under 300 yards is considered closer range. Actually the wife shot an elk at close range and it went in and out with little explanation. -

I also have a 6.8 western. I like it but I’m a hand loader. The 165 grain accubonds loaded with vv n568 is a great combo. Good luck. -

Economical vertical smoker
I have a pit boss that uses pellets, I add some soaked chips to the burner area. Have had it for years. Works great.- Dan-06
