    Pretty Fly for a Nilgai

    Really cool story, thanks for sharing. Did a hunt on one of the nearby units a few years ago and it was an awesome experience. Its a part of Texas I never knew existed but fell in love with it. Nilgai are incredible animals and tasty too! Thanks again!

    There is no definitive draw app opening date but generally it is around mid September. The draw app deadline is the 2nd Tuesday in October, Oct 10th this year. As mentioned, pick up a bonus point in the current draw to increase your odds on the unit you want.

    NM draw is open.

    Very good points about NM draw odds and units over the years. However, NM has double the elk population of AZ. NM was really fun and much easier to draw 10+ years ago. Now its lottery odds.

    Muzzleloader recommendation for elk under $1500

    Love my CVA Accura V2 with the Bergara barrel. I think it was around $500. Very accurate out to 200-250 yards and can probably be pushed further.

    AZ is awful. For instance, with my family of 4 I have to enter Social Security numbers 80 times a year! Credit Card is run at least 20 times a year just for app fees. It's a joke.
