    2026 sasuage and processing thread

Spanish chorizo (elk) entering the next phase: I should note that I don’t fully understand the process/temperatures/humidity (which bothers the I.E. in my very deeeply) but our guy JP knows his stuff so I trust him. Guess is 6-8 weeks or so after smoking until ready since we had to use the...

    2026 sasuage and processing thread

Honey Bourbon Antelope - test patties were great. Would like it to firm up a bit Pork Finnocchiona - months in the making and turned out awesome. We are trying with 50/50 elk shoulder and as noted, I think it will be awful, but the pork batch is great: “Guy in charge of pig guts” for the...

    2026 sasuage and processing thread

great thread, our big sausage day is tomorrow. My son in laws Uncle has effectively a professional charcuterie setup at his place (and being South African, they also have a few Biltong boxes that will see some use). Several things in marinade already. Couple new ones this year: - Boerewors...

    Any hockey fans out there?

Haven’t had the wings yet, but have run pretty good against the rest of that list effectively every other game this year so far (16/36 games against the east) so not sure what the argument is 🤷‍♂️

    I guess that’s why they’re only 12-2-2 vs Eastern conference teams…

    Any hockey fans out there?

Late to the party - but given the top of the division, it's either push the chips in to compete now, or start the rebuild. Billy G kind of already started down the former route when he inked 97 to $17M/year, so a rebuild wasnt in the cards. A funny but interesting take I heard today. If the...

Yep, that’s why I think VAN ‘won’ it (at least so far, with 0 games played since the trade) But 2 playoffs worth of Hughes is a pretty good deal even if he doesn’t re-sign. As an Avs fan I absolutely hate it.

    Any hockey fans out there?

Friedman and other insider types all reported that Buium was the sticking point and VAN wouldn’t make the deal without him. Murderers row of D-men in the Central now, yikes. I think VAN ‘won’ the trade - I think it’s unlikely Hughes re-signs in MN and not sure they could afford him and 97...

    Truck/Camp Chainsaw

I would say equivalent to a tank. I had a pretty massive pile of wood when it ran out. It def used less oil. And if you get a 2nd battery for $400, that's a steal. The deal Stihl was running when I got mine in October was just the saw+1 battery+charger for $400. Definitely quieter. Louder than...

    Truck/Camp Chainsaw

My Husky needed some work before elk season this year and I ran out of time, so I finally went and bought an electric. Got the same one you mentioned (Stihl 70). I can't believe I didn't make the switch earlier. It's great. Hasn't leaked, runs like a top, cuts great. No fuel sloshing around...

Fun game. Man I wish the Avs had been able to hang onto Sean Walker.
