Tape at the end of barrel?

Haha, didn't think of how humorous it sounded when I typed it originally, was just purely the practical (frugal) side of me, lol. I do use elec tape to secure the glove fingers to the muzzle, and have had the same couple of rolls for a few years. "100 uses out of one roll?!"

Wyoming pronghorn is our happy hunt

Great post, thanks for sharing. We have blueberry bushes and harvested lots of berries this year and still have some antelope from last year's hunt so I might have to try your recipe, sounds great! Great job on your hunts, and congrats!

    GoHunt vs. OnX

I tend to agree with the consensus so far. I tried GoHunt last year and actually really liked it for planning our out-of-state hunt because of the research tools and also for the desktop functionality. I liked the 3D, elevation bands, aspect tools etc. but agree with others that OnX seemed to...

    Anybody Like Ruger Boat Paddles?

Love mine in 30-06, have had since the late 90's. It's been through many horrible rainy days here in Oregon and never failed me, has killed everything I've shot at. I've always thought of it as a very accurate rifle.

    Oregon Draw 2023

That should be a lot of fun, when I spoke with the area bio before putting in for the tag, he said his friends always see nice bucks during that muzzleloader hunt. Good luck!

    Oregon Draw 2023

Nothing spectacular for me but my son drew the new Dixon Unit buck hunt so am pretty excited for him. Should be fun. Congrats to all who drew tags.

    Fall Turkey tactics?

Thanks for the tips all, appreciate those. We'll be trying for toms for sure but population of birds is fortunately not an issue in this area so with this being my son's first turkey hunt, he may take a hen. He wants a tom though, haha. Bag limit is actually 2 per hunter per day. Yeah, our plan...

    First youth hunting rifle?

.243 worked well for my son from age 9-12 or so for just deer then went to 7mm-08 to hunt elk also. Both have been great rounds, very accurate and effective.

    Fall Turkey tactics?

Curious about fall turkey tactics (versus spring methods). I'm not an experienced turkey hunter (have hunted one spring and harvested one), but my son and I have access to hunt a property in a couple of weeks where it sounds like there are a reasonable number of birds living. This is Oak...

Well happy friggin election Oregon... :(

One thing still not clear to me is how this new law will affect transfers, as in transferring a firearm to my son once he's old enough. I believe the language states that a permit is required to "acquire a firearm." Assuming this will include transfers but not 100% sure.

    Father/Son 1st Lopes

Thanks much. Yeah, we were happy taking any buck with this being our first time hunting pronghorn. We processed the meat ourselves and have found it to be excellent. Great flavor and very tender. We got them quartered quickly in the field for the pack out and onto frozen gallon water jugs in...
