Always up for more hunting partners. This year is the most grouse I have ever seen in SD. It is also the least amount of pheasants I have seen though...but that is another topic.- bmt99

My company just closed and I have been taking the last couple weeks to hunt, fish, honeydo etc. Trying to utilize the time wisely, give thanks and count my blessings. Pretty awesome. Pretty excited for you! Great story telling and think it was good to share both highs and the lows. Best memories. I think the super hot September may have helped some of those big elk stay alive. Bugling middle of the night and too hot during the day. Again congrats man! -

SD deer
35L is a tough one to grab. They have reduced the number of access tags for archery there too. Took out 100 resident access tags but kept NR the same. Now 400 and 125 respectively. Used to be 500 and 125. Can't say NR got the shaft on that one. My family went 1 for 4 Interesting to think...- bmt99

Anybody have luck in the elk draw?
I have been out for a while dealing with a neck issue. Come back to find out I drew an archery tag at the same time as finding out I am losing strength in my right arm in addition to the pain in my arm and Dr says I need surgery to fix a disc (replace or fuse). Talk about highs and lows. Still...- bmt99

Smith Wigglesworth - Ever Increasing Faith. With the disc injury and associated nerve pain I am currently dealing with, I tend to turn towards books like this and/or the Bible. Need to do much better about that when I am feeling good but that is another post.- bmt99

All that is understandable. Choices, consequences, economy, etc. Some are in your control and some are not. Sounds like your wife is supportive and that is incredibly helpful. Finally first Elk hunt, harder than you think!!!
