30-something, based in northern Utah. I took a cow elk when I was 14 and that is the only big game animal I've ever harvested. I've hunted for several years since then but I can't ever find anything I have a tag for. I married into a serious hunting family several years ago and they've helped me become a much more dedicated hunter, especially since all of the trophies in the house are my wife's (except for a couple of turkey tails).

I generally hunt the public land across northern Utah and eastern Idaho. The North Slope of the Uintas is my happy place, but Logan Canyon is closer to home. While I enjoy elk hunting the most, I hope to hunt deer, pronghorn, black bear, and moose in the not-distant-future.

I'm an old fudd in a young body. I think the .30-06 can do it all but I really love my lever guns. For take methods, I'm generally a rifle-hunter, but I’m intend to seriously expand into archery and muzzleloader and potentially handgun if Utah keeps making more HAMSS hunts.
