    Sir, Just signed up.. I'm taking my 9, almost 10 year boy bear hunting this week. We have the walla walla / Mt.Emily. I hunted walla walla for elk twice, I would take any advice you might have for spring bear hunting that area. We're headed up from Prineville, Or. If your ever in Central Oregon I can provide some guidance on bow elk hunting in the Ochoco's and some sage rat areas. Thanks Larry 541-771-2879

    We are leaving tomorrow afternoon so should be hunting by Friday morning and will leave Monday sometime. I may take the boy fishing too if I find some good streams and creeks. We do a lot of small mouth bass fishing and some trout fishing over here but right now our water levels or horrific. Thanks for the info I will check those areas out and let you know how we do. Larry

    Good luck, if you go look on the Mt. Emily side I would look into any of the west facing canyons you can reach.

    Great bear units! I had a bow tag in Mt. Emily in 2011 and could have killed 6 bears with my bow in the 2 weeks that I hunted. Mt. Emily has great glassing opportunities and there are bears everywhere in the unit. I'm having my 9 year old complete his hunter safety right now. Good job getting your kids out in the field.
