America Before, Graham Handcock. Just finished Crow Killer. I love everything Peter Hathaway Capstick does. River of Doubt was good too.
There is a few for your list.
I have been re-reading this one leading up to elk season this year. I read it years and years ago, but it's been a great refresher on things that slip the mind.
“De Luna” it’s a historical novel about an attempt by the Spanish to colonize near current day Pensacola, FL in the 1500’s. Referred to me by a fellow history buff who lives in Pensacola. Good so far.
Currently been working on "Hunting Trips of a Ranchman" by Theodore Roosevelt. It's a bit of a tough read because there's almost no storyline to the book. It's just semi random facts and stories about animals and hunts as if someone was bsing around a campfire. It's interesting though that some of the things he brings up still rings true today like the ethics of long range hunting for example.
The Old Man and the Boy by Robert Ruark. Just finished the first chapter the other night and very much looking forward to reading more. I too am not an avid reader, but am trying to become one.
It gave Indian Creek Chronicles a run for its money. If interested in reading this one I would recommend reading Indian Creek first. Cabin Creek book sounds good, I'll have to check it out.
Just got done with Indian Creek Chronicles by Pete Fromm, about a college student watching a bunch of salmon fry over the winter in the bitterroots. Pretty good book!
