Shattered my ankle on day 2 of my bull elk hunt. What happened?
Noooooooooooo!!!!! I am so sorryShattered my ankle on day 2 of my bull elk hunt.
Where you able to defer the elk tag as well?Shattered my ankle on day 2 of my bull elk hunt.
Negative on the elk tag because the accident had to have occured before the season opened and it happened on the 3rd day of season. I only got to hunt 1 day.Where you able to defer the elk tag as well?
It's a bummer when a long awaited tag gets trashed by an accident!
Hopefully that's good Karma for your sheep hunt this coming year.Negative on the elk tag because the accident had to have occured before the season opened and it happened on the 3rd day of season. I only got to hunt 1 day.
I would scout as much as you can. Get to know the terrian, water, food, etc. It also will teach you where the animals are not.As some of you may know I was awarded a much coveted desert bighorn sheep tag someone turned back in.
My hunt unit is about 20 minutes from my house and I plan to get an idea of the few roads there are, it's not a very big unit.
Hunt actually starts on the last day of my bull elk hunt, Nov. 20th so my scouting will have to be done before-hand.
My question is should I actually look for sheep this early or wait until early Oct.? I don't know how much they move around.
I have zero experience hunting sheep.
Any thoughts?
