This Sat. 9-15, the local deer season opens.
Most of the deer are blacktails, with the occasional Calif. mule deer.
I'll be leaving Fri. night for the two hour drive to deer camp, meeting several buddies at our new deer camp, ( 1/2 mile from the old camp )
Scouting reports are OK, with several legal bucks spotted in the area ( forked horn or better )
I can't wait to get in the field and watch the sun come up in the Sierra Nevada Mts., some of the most beutaful country in the world.
The deer arn't real big, but I'm going to hunt with my new .338, getting ready for my elk hunt next month.
I hope everyone else is getting ready to go hunting, we all need something to take our minds off the tragedy back east.
