"Hunting and conservation groups say the CWD Genetic Improvement Act poses a risk to Oklahoma’s wild deer herds because it’s based on emerging science that has, so far, only been studied in captive deer populations.
It’s not so much the research itself but the way the state wants to implement...
From yesterday:
My word doc I followed - Ramble points when delivering my public comment. I bumbled a bit as I ran into a typo (trying to read and fit w/ 2 minutes) though overall, I believe the comment was received. @Schaaf hit it out of the park! Well spoken and defined comments. He's a model...
A random or off the cuff idea as a goal? That's a step into personal whim defined moments!
Hmmm, I suppose my favorite aspect of hunting our Wilderness backcountry is the solitude the dark starry sky presents.
The off the cuff thought to lay back, look up into space, and listen to the distant...
No worries, just a grumpy post 40 words more than MTMuley.
I'm surprised it wasn't shared in this thread earlier than my 50 minute heads up for registering.
Post in thread 'Montana General Season Structure Proposal'...
Public comments by four people... Seems lacking though to each your own.
Tomorrow, hopefully a few more to support - share appreciation for the CAC's efforts and a bump for HT citizen season proposal might tinker in their minds. Then again, maybe there's little to no point for public comment -...
Not intended in facetious manner.
I was advised they use the hunter phone surveys for R1 because they don't have a helicopter that works or available for aerial surveys... This is backed by their population assessment of R1 that notates helicopter maintenance issue / unavailable. This if for...
Challenge for counts via aerial is garbage for R1. Buzz has also referred to FWP 's failure to conduct surveys via aerial.
When I view counts for R1, almost every year they comment aerial unavailable due to maintenance and (or) flat out helo was unavailable - thus they base (gu)estimated counts...

Is there a link to show the success rate for this "pressure" on private land to reduce problematic concentrations? It applies to other ungulates as well. One month to deal with problematic concentrations of mule deer.
I'm curious because nation-wide, the favored means for taking deer is via...

MVUM = Motor Vehicle Use Map.
If a continuous rain pounding, the Ranger may opt to keep roads closed. Using Bader's opinion, it appears the Ranger must open them. I've never known the MVUM to be outside a District Ranger's authority to adjust/adapt as necessary. Wasn't aware it requires the...
Each generation becomes its own... Our generations will change beyond our days and Montana will contemplate why a laser rifle two mile shot is over the line technology for "fair chase".
Agree.
This was a comment made by one of the environmental organizations to maybe embellish an extreme for potential(?) to cause more queried concern for alternative energy.

Get with the times, MTM, It's whatev's. Hey though - you took the time to post. Gold star. ;)
Interesting aspect in an area of MSU (and Carroll, and UM) grads and alum, I found this striking.
