For some reason I thought there were 50 tags issued… there were 5 for type ones and 5 for type fours. Over 3000 applications, that should knock the pressure down a little bit.

For moose, there were only 2 random draw NR tags - down from 7 in 2022.

i did put in for another pp thankfully...i have 21 for 2024...1 went for 21, 2 went for 20 in 2023...soo maybe ill draw this year...unit 38

Had this bull come in on a cow hunt a few years back. I shot a hot cow and he wouldn't leave, I lost some meat because I couldn't scare him off. Yelling, shooting the ground, tried just about everything. He charged me twice, had a climb a tree. The next morning I came back to dress her and twice he plowed through and we had to run off. Cool experience and a nice bull.

Next year 38 is going to be 3 areas: 38,41 and 45.
Might affect draw odds slightly and maybe more cow tags, we'll have to see.

You can get your cow without an outfitter, it will take time to find one without a calf but it is very doable.
