Any plumbers on here

That I do not know. Bypassed the softener last night. No air this morning so will give it a few more days on that.
Mine is coming up on 12 years old and just started leaking from the overflow hole. Hit the bypass to keep the water off the basement floor until I decide I can splurge on a new one.

Another one for you guys. Had a sulfur smell coming out of bathroom sinks (upstairs and double vanity). Figured P Trap was gunked and was letting some sewer gas back up. Pulled both P traps and the smell was something extra and there was all sorts of gross stuff in there. Cleaned them out thoroughly and put back on. Smell was completely gone even when taking a big whiff near the drain. Couple weeks have gone by and the smell is back, albeit much much less. One sink smells more than the other and it was that way before the first "fix". What am I missing?

Bump

Run water through them so the trap doesn't dry out?
Have to agree - sounds like your trap is not working from dry out.

Climate probably matters - I dont think that would happen (drying out in 2 weeks) in Hawaii but im sure it is in Arizona.

Now this one probably is a venting issue. If your venting is partially blocked the drains could be siphoning the traps down. Ill bet the sink that smells the most is closest to the drain pipe.

My next paycheck says there is no vent.

I ended up pulling the stopper and running hot soapy water through the overflow for about 5 minutes. Thought maybe some gunk was in there throwing off the vent seal. Smell is gone. See if it stays gone
