Hello. My first visit to Wyoming is just a couple of weeks away. Can't wait! I was looking for something to do after my antelope hunt, so I picked up a cow tag for Area 129. Here's what I have observed in my e-scouting so far:
1. Area 129 is huge and has a low elk population.
2. Area 129 completely surrounds Area 2, which has more elk and high hunter success stats.
So I am thinking a good strategy might be to hunt along the edges of Area 2, using onX to navigate between BLM, state and private lands. The Upper Powder River Rd runs along the west side of Area 2. If you are familiar with Area 129 I would appreciate any comments or tips. Does this sound like a reasonable approach?
