Looking for 788 stock for 223 that is either youth size or one I can cut to decrease the LOP. Prefer wood but open to options and stock does not need to look pretty. Thanks

I don't believe it will fit but I have one for a 243 already cut to about 12 1/2 or so once I put on my Pachmayr slip-on pad. Barrel channel is free floated and the stock isn't pretty but it's yours for shipping cost if you think you can use it. Original butt plate and screws included but not the slip on. I need it for my shotgun.
I re-installed the rear swivel stud after cutting the stock.

I don't believe that the 243 stock will fit if that is the plan. There are 3 lengths of 788 action. The Numrich add tells the calibers that fit. You need to measure between action screws and there is not a lot of difference. They are kind of weird. I have ran in to this before and bought a stock that didn't fit.

You are correct. The 788 is a bit strange in not having only SA/LA. I am aware of the differences and realize it is not a drop in fit. I will need to address the recoil lug recess and the action screw holes. Received the stock from ShortAction today and I am quite certain I can make it work just fine. Piece of cake :D
