Visited the Chicago Art Institute and came across what has to be the coolest gun show in Chicago... that made me think immediately of @BrentD and @Ben Lamb . Some really neat stuff, mostly from the 1600s



The wheel locks were interesting




All the firearms are true works of art

The triple barrel is my favorite...shoot, manually rotate to next barrel, shoot again, etc.




Use your favorite stag antler powder measure, engraved with the parable of the good Samaritan

What the hell is the purpose of firearm with the barrels line of fire crossing? (Post#5). Was there a placard describing the intent behind the build?

I'm sure there was, but I didn't find it.

This was literally our last stop in the art museum and my kids were already way out of gas, so I didn't spend a ton of time in there.

Must be short range weaponry, and I thought it interesting it has no pistol grip, just a straight grip with ball head since you've got to rotate the whole thing.

May have to go back sometime to get the rest of the story.
