My son drew the Youth Any Bull tag for Sept 14 - 22nd, as we have never been to Utah hunting everything has been online scouting. I will be making a trip there Labor Day weekend to get boots on the ground but I am hoping to narrow down some of the areas I have been looking at. Below are the areas I have been looking at, would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has hunted the area at all.
South Slope Unit - Marsh Peak area - I am concerned it is a little too high in elevation for the cows to be up there that time of year at around 10K ft but looks like some good meadows and I would hope some good feed.
South slope Unit - Pole Mountain - A few recent burns with what look like some decent water sources in the bottoms, lower elevations towards the reservation.
North slope unit - Just southwest of Flaming Gorge Res.
Any information you can provide would be helpful to narrow down my weekend scouting window.
